"Reed and Ceramic" Room

The “Reed and ceramics” room is composed by a double bed and two single beds. It is characterized by the presence of two star vaults with front at sight.

Its furniture is very particular. The heads of the beds, called “CANNIZZI”, have been made by a local skilled craftsman. They are a wattle of canes from Salento, in the ancient times they were used as a shelf to dry the figs.
The bedside tables, in the salentine dialect called “CAPASE”, are craftmade by ceramics. In the ancient times they were used as containers for bread, biscuits , ”frise” (kind of typical bread that people use to put into water to make it more soft and it is eaten with tomatoes, salt and olive oil) and wheat.
The desk is made by rock and it used to be a manger for the animals.

The room has got a private bathroom with a star vault painted in lime
The doors are made by solid wood painted in the typical colours of the old houses.
The sheets are “san gallo” lace style and linen and accessories too.
